Accessibility Statement for the D-Trust Portal

This statement was prepared on 02.08.2023. It is appraised based on the self-assessment conducted in August 2023.

D-Trust GmbH endeavours to make the Officer Portal accessible without barriers in accordance with the national legislation implementing Directive (EU) 2016/2102 of the European Parliament and of the Council on barrier-free access to the websites and mobile applications of public authorities.

We are constantly working to improve the accessibility of the D-Trust Portal. To date, we have not yet been able to design and provide all content in a digitally accessible format. When creating new content, we have set ourselves the goal of making it as accessible as possible.

This Accessibility Statement applies to the version of this website currently available online: https://portal.d-trust.net/.

We have refrained from implementing controls for contrast selection and text enlargement, as modern browsers sometimes have this feature as standard. A complete abandonment of graphics with text would have made the content more difficult to access in light of the complex and in part legal and technical relationships. Revising all PDF documents at the time of publishing the new website would have meant a disproportionate workload due to the large number of documents and would have exceeded the available resources. When preparing new PDF documents, we seek to make them available pursuant to the PDF/UA standard (DIN ISO 14289). We strive to offer our PDF documents in a way that is accessible.

Non-Accessible Areas

A fully accessible design is not yet available in the following areas according to Article 5 of EU Directive 2016/2102 or BGG Sec. 12a (6):

Content Design

  • HTML headings:

The hierarchy of the HTML heading elements used is not always logical. The website is not always subdivided with structural elements h1 to h6.

  • HTML structural elements:

Not all text passages/paragraphs are marked with suitable HTML structural elements.

  • Data tables:

Data tables are not structurally correct throughout, making it difficult for blind people to retrieve information in a targeted manner. When the content is read out using a screen reader, content cannot be read out in logical sequence.

  • Forms:

Error messages are not always provided. Overlays and error messages do not fulfil all requirements for closing and reading the content.

  • Images:

There are no alternative texts for some images.

  • Infographics:

There are some infographics in the D-Trust Portal for which no explanatory alternative text is available.

  • Simple language:

There is currently no page in simple language explaining the content and the website navigation.

  • Controls for contrast and text size:

Controls for contrast selection and text enlargement are lacking.

  • PDF documents:

Not all PDF documents available for download are accessible.

  • Sign language video:

In the sign-me web portal, there is currently no sign language video explaining the content and the website navigation.

Operability

  • Not all functions and content can be accessed or operated using the keyboard. When navigating with the keyboard, the focus is not consistently clearly visible.
  • Not all technical terms on the page have been adapted to the language of the website in the source text. This can make it difficult to retrieve information, especially when using screen reader software.

Error Identification

  • Not all error messages are displayed in a way that allows them to also be detected by screen readers. In some cases, there are no notes or labels describing the data that the users need to enter.
  • Not all status messages, progress indicators or other elements that automatically notify of changes can currently be detected by assistive technologies (such as screen readers) and therefore cannot be output. Sometimes the focus is not maintained.
