Profession D-Trust Card – More Than a Signature

Entering Professional Qualifications in the Certificate

The Profession D-Trust Card extends the possibilities of the classic D-Trust signature card by including a verified professional attribute in the certificate. Signature cards are an innovative solution for providing legally secure digital signatures.

Strengthening Professional Identity: The Profession D-Trust Card

The addition of the professional attribute clearly and transparently indicates the role of the signatory in electronic documents. The Profession D-Trust Card can be used to provide qualified electronic signatures while automatically transmitting a professional attribute at the same time.

Your Benefits at a Glance

  • Professional attribute entry of professional details for precise digital identification
  • Legal recognition – fulfils the written form requirement for legally compliant electronic signatures
  • EU-compliant – certified according to eIDAS for maximum data security
  • Security – qualified electronic signatures ensure maximum security

Product Details

Compared to classic signature cards, the Profession D-Trust Card offers additional features by integrating professional details into the certificate. This professional attribute must be confirmed by the respective professional association and provides additional transparency in electronic documents. In the case of expert attributes, they are confirmed by the Chambers of Crafts or a Chamber of Industry and Commerce (IHK) in Germany.

The card is supplied as a physical smartcard and offers the same security and benefits as the Signature Card, including a legally compliant electronic signature and identity verification.

The additional integration of professional details in the certificate makes it the ideal solution for professional identities and legally compliant electronic documents. Sample applications include proof of expert activity on electronic expert reports or the function of a signatory in the field of justice or on an electronic file (eFile).

The Profession D-Trust Card is available both as a single and batch signature card (M100). Single signature cards use RSA keys and require a PIN to be entered on the card reader for each qualified electronic signature. Batch signatures are based on ECC keys and enable up to 100 documents to be signed after a PIN is entered.
